JACOB
In the Fall of 2015, a then 19 year old Luis Rios Jr was allowed to create his first recreational indoor team under XL Soccerworld. At an incredibly young age, Jacob showed massive potential as a ball-playing Center Back. Much of the youth indoor team's success can be directly attributed to his hard-working, humble character traits.
The following year, Jacob would then represent Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) at the outdoor "Classic" level, while also under Rios for Regional/National Indoor & Futsal. He would become part of a team that won a National Indoor Silver Medal, and multiple Mid-Atlantic Regional Medals.
In 2017 CASL would merge with other local clubs to form North Carolina FC Youth, allowing him to compete at the highest levels of US Youth Soccer. During this time, the indoor team would also move under the Sport HQ Futsal label. In collaboration with FC Barcelona Futsal, Jacob and the rest of the Sport HQ/Rios-coached team would learn the "Tiki-Taka" style associated with the Catalan club.
In Summer of 2020, at the age of 15, Jacob would debt for for Central Raleigh FC at the Semi-Pro level. In his first year, he was named in the Conference XI for both UPSL Division One and Eastern Carolina Conference League. He also averaged the most successful tackles at 8.4/match.
Jacob will graduate from Raleigh Charter High School in Spring of 2024. He would be awarded All-Conference (Super Six 2A) all three years for Phoenix Varsity, despite a pandemic halting all soccer his Freshman year. His senior year also saw him earn All-State and MVP a second time.
Central Raleigh FC is eternally grateful for the contributions Jacob has had not only made on the last 4 years of our club, but also his impact on the teammates. This Fall will mark 10 years since the original 8 (under coach Luis Rios Jr), played their first recreational indoor game all those years ago.
